The knee is a complex joint made up of
one end of the femur (thigh bone) and one end of the
tibia (shinbone). A number of ligaments run between the
femur and the tibia in the knee joint. The anterior
cruciate ligament, the posterior cruciate liagment, and
the meniscal ligaments are among the ligaments of the
knee joint.

This large weight bearing joint is
particularly prone to injury because of the work it has
to do to keep us moving – even simple everyday
activities like walking down stairs can be potential
sources of injury.
